• Design, build, and test small scale Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cells in a variety of simulated automotive environmental conditions located within General Motors Advanced Propulsion Center (environmental chambers, humidifiers, cell heaters, glycol coolant pumps, potentiostats, load banks, etc.).• Perform Beginning of Life (BOL) and End of Life (EOL) diagnostic testing• Manage testing schedule based on General Motors budget, DOE requests (4500 tests per year), test stand availability (50 test stands), and priority.• Maintain customer (GM) satisfaction by interfacing with project managers on a daily basis• Design experiments to monitor fuel cell performance and durability using advanced test methods and equipment (Highly Accelerated Life Testing – HALT).• Review, interpret, analyze, and present data to research scientists and engineers using the latest data analysis tools (Office 2010, Labview, and Minitab).• Debug, modify, and calibrate test stand equipment.• Manipulate test stand hardware and software for specialized testing.• Maintain database for tracking test stand utilization.• Write and debug protocols to suit the needs of unique and standard testing.• Write and update Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P) as necessary.• Train technicians, engineers, and researchers to function safely and independently while in the testing laboratory.• Identify and prevent potential safety hazards within the lab.
