Physician Assistant - Orthopaedic Surgery
CurrentEvaluate patients primarily for concerns of upper and lower extremities• Perform history and physicals, order and evaluate imaging studies, formulate differentials, prescribe medications• Offer and utilize non-surgical treatment options including exercise-based therapy, intra-articular steroid injections, application of splints and casts, referrals to other providers as appropriate; collaborate with supervising physician for surgical interventions• Prepare patients in OR, 1st assist with procedures including carpal tunnel release, cyst excision, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, distal clavicle resection, total hip and knee arthroplasty, TTFN, ORIF, open ACL reconstruction• Assess post-op patients and continuing treatment plans, educate patients as necessary• Assess consults in ED and inpatient floor; reduce fractures and dislocations
