Assistant Meat Department Manager
Manage the staff on duty- clearly communicate expectations and job duties. Empowering them to be the best they can be, so they can reach their full potential. Positively reinforcing good behavior, and reprimanding bad behavior. Providing excellent customer service - Greeting customers as soon as they come up to the meat service counter. Offering samples, suggestions, and cooking methods. I also help customers place orders, solve problems and save money to develop a sense of trust and loyalty. Ordering product - forecasting demand of advertised products using a simple mathematical algorithm, so we have sufficient supply on hand for our customers demand, but also that we keep our inventory at an acceptable level. Order product through the Ingen system, and working with the Inventory control manager to make sure our inventory levels our accurate.Prioritize - Cast a vision for what needs done in a day and in what order so as to meet our goals of customer service, stock outs, and sales. Train co-workers - Continuous improvement through teaching full time employees how to order product, and teaching my manager how to do important tasks on the computer. Also conducting weekly meetings in which my manager and I explain the things we are doing correct and address areas of improvement as a team. Pricing integrity- Make sure that all displays and shelf spots are correctly priced for our customers. Health and safety standards- Make sure that all logs are filled out on a daily basis. Contribution to overhead- Log invoices and credits into an excel spreadsheet to develop a weekly purchase amount. Enter in sales, costs, labor, and customer counts to develop our contribution to overhead report. Cleanliness- Make sure that my department stays within health code by assigning cleaning tasks on a weekly basis.
