For the past several months I have been engaged in a variety of training courses and personal study.* I have taken a couple courses in data science and the R programming language* I have taken courses on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and completed a capstone project to earn a certification in web design on July 20, 2016.* While I am not currently taking any training courses, I am studying ASP.Net MVC on my own time.I am also currently making a web page for a friend's company, and am awaiting additional information necessary before deploying the site.

- Pamela Irving ran a small business making various crafts and furniture, primarily using used materials. I was commissioned to create a web site for this business which would display Pamela’s work and allow the clients to connect to her.- Initially, over a few meetings to develop and organize the site’s design, I formed a prototype in HTML with Bootstrap, custom CSS, JavaScript and jQuery.- Once the prototype was satisfactory I built the site using ASP.NET MVC5.- Around November, Pamela decided to rethink the direction her business was moving and ultimately decided to shut down her business and perform volunteer work.

o Produced a program to read EDI files according to provided SEF files and load the contents into a database through Entity Framework objects. The program was designed to utilize the EDIDev framework to scan the contents of a folder, identify all EDI files that match the format specified in a selected SEF file, and then process them in sequence.

o Constructed forms in C++ and C# to load reservoir data into the database and display data retrieved from the database for editing. This included the ability to edit or delete specific data, and in some cases allowed the columns displayed to be expanded or individually set with more variable data sets. In time, I developed multiple libraries to handle the regular tasks performed against the database, as well as creating a set of base forms that produced much of the structure of each form and handled the majority of their behavior, improving consistency while significantly reducing redundancy and total program size.o Reconstructed existing forms to meet new demands, such as adaptability to variable data sets.o Set up forms to display in multiple languageso Constructed a program to extract data from database export, organize and format said data in multiple formats; the program sorted through large files and selected specific records and columns, excluding all others, then set formatting standards for the output. This included prefixes and suffixes, separators, data type formatting, headers, footers, and specialized rules for system-unique file formats.o Redesigned the graphical displays in Java for RAPID system to support flash and SVG
