While a student at Colorado School of Mines I performed research in collaboration with Advanced Material Solutions Combustion Cladding. The purpose of the research was to develop exothermic welding flux for forge welding. I mixed powder pellets of varying compositions and performed induction reactions of the pellets. I then used light optical microscopy.

Carlsbad, New Mexico

At Intrepid Potash, I sampled partially processed salt ore from hydrocyclones. At the lab I analyzed the samples in order to track mineral recovery and waste of valuable material into tailings. At the end of the internship I then presented my findings to the engineering department so they could look for areas to improve mineral recovery and minimize waste.
