Managed several schools around Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford. This included maintenance on all IT equipment, planning for upgrades, backups, server maintenance, configuring switches and general AD and Group Policy work to fit the schools needs.

Managed the software and applications within Huddersfield New College. I was in charge of making sure everything was managed, deployed and updated successfully within college. The role still had aspects of a technician, but my main responsibilities was more of a backend approach.My day-to-day responsibilities were maintaining IOS devices (hardware, software and updates), managing Mac and PC software that was deployed through services such as JAMF Pro and Microsoft Intune and eventually being in control of Azure. There was a bespoke in-house website/portal that was managed by myself and my manager that required C#, SQL and PowerShell knowledge for creating and managing users, their feed and retrospective MS Team groups. Occasionally I would help a member of staff with the Moodle servers and SQL side of things.

There were 4 primaries in total that were under my care, and I took great pride in getting them to the best possible position I could. I think I have learnt a lot about time management and utilising it efficiently. One of the biggest projects that I had working with IMPACT was creating consistent websites for the primary schools that I managed. Working with ClearSilver, I co-developed three websites that was up to an incredibly high professional standard that I am proud of still to this day. I would occasionally help out at High Schools when I had some spare time which I found was a welcome break and mixed the week up rather nicely.

When I first started my employment at Warley Road, I was working towards completing my apprenticeship and becoming a qualified Infrastructure Technician. I started small with printing repairs, password resets and website updates, but was soon trusted with creating virtual machines on our Hyper-V servers to host our door systems on (Paxton), managing and configuring a 100+ user Active Directory and taking on some more advanced 2nd line tickets with my line manager at the time. One of my proudest moments was creating an application for parents to use so they can stay up to date with latest news and information. This role really reinforced my passion for not only IT but also helping people and doing whatever I can to be of service towards members of staff.
