I am responsible for identifying opportunities and developing solutions in a refinery setting with a goal ofmaximizing unit on stream time and optimizing unit economics in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. I have been assigned to the FCC and HF Alky units since January 2019 and previously spent 5 years covering the Naphtha Hydrotreater, CCR and Par Isom. I am the back up for our economics and planning engineer, which affords me the opportunity to run LP models to optimize our crude slate, manage raw feed, intermediate and finished product inventories and oversee gasoline blending.I have a proven ability to optimize equipment operations and maximize yields. I have successfully coordinated projects that satisfied the diverse needs of different groups within the refinery including operations, commercial, maintenance, accounting, etc.

I am responsible for proactively identifying problems and developing solutions in the Reformer Unit with a goal of maximizing on unit stream time and optimizing unit economics in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSafety• Ensure that units are operated safely and employees comply with all safety procedures• Participate in unit HazOps and complete recommendations• Participate in yearly certification of SOPs• Lead and/or participate in incident investigations• Ensure MOCs are in place and that PSSR and training is completed for all process changes• Ensure that Safety Walk Throughs are completed for all turnaroundsAdministration of Operations Personnel• Assist in the development and implementation of training for Operators• Support the development of Red Tag training for OperatorsUnit Operations• Monitor unit performance and be available by phone to discuss operator questions and concerns• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues• Support unit start-ups and shut downsEngineering• Create blind lists for projects• Write operational reports for major events like shutdowns and catalyst change-out• Prepare summary report for monthly review with Management• Provide data to technology suppliers, catalyst vendors, etc. Coordinate periodic meetings to review with Management• Maintain and improve unit mass balances• Support Unit Supervisor in maintaining SOPs• Improve and maintain P&IDs• Support major capital projects• Identify projects to improve performance and eliminate bottlenecks• Develop and keep unit PI screens up to dateTurnarounds• Ensure all TAR work is complete and correct• Ensure start-up and shutdown SOPs are adequate for the TAR• Develop long lead and critical path items for unit during TAR• Write the MOCs for the TAR unless projects are specifically assigned to Project Group• Write work requests for TA work• Develop loading diagrams and oversee catalyst loading• Write TAR reports

I have my own projects and handle all the responsibilities that Project Engineers have, including: developing a complete scoping package for all projects, completing the Management Of Change process on all projects, developing training for Operators and Maintenance personnel and coordinating with construction managers and contractors to implement projects. One of my current projects is designing all of the piping for a new 40,000 bbl diesel storage tank. I have coordinated with Management, Engineers, Operations Supervisors and Construction Project Managers to develop a plan for yielding to the tank, transferring between tanks, circulating the tank and pumping to the Pipeline. Different factions in the refinery have different interests. I developed a plan that satisfied all of their needs. I was responsible for analyzing the hydraulics for the whole system to determine if the pumps that were planned for the project were adequate and where they should be placed. I am also the MOC owner for this project, as well as many others.
