The test method especially misdiagnoses low-alkali concrete systems affected by ASR due to alkali leaching and subsequent suppression of the reaction.Construction Materials Research Group, “Field and Laboratory Evaluations of Physical Sulfate Attack” This study includes indoor testing in an environmental chamber to simulate the cyclical conditions needed to promote physical sulfate attack, as well as, outdoor testing in sodium sulfate ponds.
