I look forward to new challenges in the future.Operations Experience• Employee #5 for Kawasaki’s new Rail Car division in 2001. Now the longest tenured employee.• Helped start up Lincoln’s Rail Car Production Engineering department.• Determined the sequences and methods to build rail cars in Lincoln for the first time.• Determined plant layouts, facilities, equipment and tooling needed for new rail car production.• Performed testing engineer role prior to the establishment of Lincoln’s Function Test department.• Became an expert in lean production through the extensive Kawasaki Production System program.• Implemented the first standard work layouts enabling engineers and production to greatly reduce labor.• Started and managed the Production Engineering Documents group to process all engineering docs.• Consolidated multiple departments into one Quality team, and then managed its nonconforming parts.• Further developed a new team called Parts Police to provide direct line-side support to production.• Tapped to support Kawasaki’s new track monitoring business, but was promoted before it started.• Brought warehouse industry best practices to Kawasaki while the Warehouse Manager.• Developed and implemented a company-wide parts kitting program to streamline the production lines.• During company-wide wiring emergency, implemented industry best practices to regain customer trust.• Proponent to grow Kawasaki’s IT at same rate as its business growth (work instr., WMS, supply chain).• Developed meticulous KPIs to visually track inventory and to quickly identify countermeasures.• Has led as many as 70 people with 6 direct reports when Manager of Planning and Warehouse depts.• Currently starting up a new Bill of Materials department to increase accuracy for downstream depts.• Many years of involvement on the Management Team and in cross functional teams has provided deep understanding/ability in the operations of Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Assurance and Control, Function Test, Production Planning, Logistics, Warehousing, Purchasing, Project Management and Kaizen departments.
