Hello! My name is Travis Wade Nance and I graduated with a BA in Music from the Butler School of Music at UT Austin. In my time living I Asutin, I have served as a section leader at University Christian Church acting as a musician and singer for worship services, a joint Theatre/Choir teacher at George Wagner Middle, The head of Logistics for Austin Chamber Music Center's Saturday Young Artist Academy, and as a Subject Matter Expert at YouTube Music.I am a huge proponent for positive social change, having participated in Peers for Pride in my final year of college. This organization was focused on hosting and leading workshops to educate audience members on queer issues and how to display proper allyship for those both in and outside of the queer community. We utilized applied theatre techniques in our workshops, which provided me and my cohort members with additional opportunities for writing, directing, and acting experience, as well as a means of becoming thoroughly acquainted with our subject matter. Additionally, I served on the Organizing Committee at YouTube Music where we won the first union election in Alphabet history, becoming the first unionized workplace at Google. My primary motivators in my career are fighting for workers' rights, providing high-quality arts education to children of all ages, and connecting with local communities to foster a stronger sense of comradery amongst the citizens of Austin.
