Began my career with Carmike Cinemas as regular concession and box office employee at the Carmike in Batesville, AR, and then promoted two months later to Operations Manager. After one year, I was promoted to General Manager of the theatre. After another year, I was transferred to a bigger facility in Fort Smith, Arkansas where I served for 3 years before transferring to Ardmore, Oklahoma, which had triple the volume. My main duties included office management, inventory control, crowd control, projection, selling tickets and concessions when needed, and above all: providing excellent guest service. Highlights: Traveled to Florida & California to transition theatres that Carmike had purchased. This included removing all POS terminals and servers and replacing them with ours, transferring employee files by going through the Carmike hiring process, and training all staff and management the policies and procedures that they are required to follow. Assisted with conducting HR investigations in Oklahoma and California Assisted with numerous audits in Arkansas and Oklahoma theatres.Several managers, including my superior, contact me when they need assistance with just about anything, including technical issues, event ideas, social media, or customer complaint resolution.In 2014, Carmike partnered with Troy University to create a scholarship program that included relevant courses for theatre management. I was one of only 15 Carmike employees to get awarded the scholarship.In December of 2016, Carmike Cinemas was acquired by AMC Theatres.

Handled multifaceted tasks (e.g., checking guests in and out, making reservations, creating flyers for special occasions, technical support, answering phones, complaint resolution, as well as many other odd jobs). Made over 1,500 room reservations during time worked. Completely handled hardware and software upgrades and conversions for guest terminals and business terminals. Quickly became known as the “Tech Guy”, and was asked to tend to any and all computer-related troubleshooting.Highlights: Helped coordinate the mass reservations and check-ins of Entergy employees during ice storms when there were thousands of power outages across the state.Was responsible for putting together training packets as well as the actual training of all new front desk employees – after just two months on the job. Maintained guest relations to the hotel and acted as concierge if guests needed a restaurant recommendation, etc.Even after leaving the hotel, hotel management stays in contact for technical or any other assistance.
