About Travis Poitras

Over 22 years of experience in the natural and ecological sciences, including 15 years experience working as a field biologist in marine, coastal, riparian, forest, grassland, and arid ecosystems in Alaska, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, California, Oklahoma, and Tennessee. In addition, I have over seven years work experience with GIS and remote sensing techniques consisting of cartography, spatial analysis, image processing, in-field vegetation surveys, and vegetation modeling/mapping. • Wildlife and botany data collection, including avian point counts, nesting bird surveys and nest monitoring, amphibian trapping and relocation, habitat assessments, endangered species surveys, and vegetation surveys and mapping. • Experience handling at-risk species such as black-capped vireos (Vireo atricapilla), marbled murrelets (Brachyramphus marmoratus), California tiger salamanders (Ambystoma californiense), and California red-legged frogs (Rana draytonii).• In-field GIS data collection. • GIS data and image analysis, map and model creation, data visualization, spatial analysis, time-series analysis, statistical analysis, and GIS database management.• Technical writing including field reports, biological reports, peer-reviewed publications, seminar and conference presentations.https://ebird.org/profile/MTMxMzg1OA
