As Career Readiness Advisor for the Orfalea College of Business I help lead the planning and execution of activities focused on career preparation, networking, and career placement for approximately 150+ graduate students. From providing personalized career counseling to fostering alumni connections with the focus on enhancing career opportunities and pathways for OCOB graduate students.* Additionally - Manage the Alumni Mentoring program and supervise the Student Assistant coordinating the program.-Support Career Readiness Center daily operations, events, and programs as needed-Assist in executing OCOB college-wide career readiness initiatives.

- Conduct orientation sessions to introduce students to majors, minors, and concentrations within the Orfalea College of Business, providing insights into academic paths and career opportunities.-Guide students in creating effective career development plans, enabling them to set clear goals and take actionable steps towards their professional aspirations- (Resume, Cover Letter, Interview Skills)- Teach essential skills for academic success, including goal setting, time management, study skills, and registration systems/strategies- Assist students in adjusting to college life, providing valuable guidance and support during their transition- Deliver engaging and informative lectures to enhance students' knowledge and readiness for college life and career planning.

* Provide individual career counseling to undergraduate students in Business Administration, Economics, and Industrial Technology and Packaging through our Orfalea College of Business. Areas of focus include, resume & cover letter review, mock interviews, internship/job search, career and major exploration, salary negotiation, graduate school preparation, and more. * Support students within our 6 Graduate Programs, (MBA, Accounting, Business Analytics, Packaging Value Chain, Quantitative Economics, and Taxation.* Leverage contacts in industry to organize panel discussions and networking meet-ups for students to engage and explore career opportunities* Share industry insight and job market trends for students looking for assistance in selection their concentration, (Accounting, Financial Management, Consumer Packaging, Entrepreneurship, Information Systems, Management and HR, Marketing, Real Estate Finance, and Quantitative Analysis. * Partner with OCOB Affiliated Clubs to support alumni networking events, department specific career fairs, and specialized workshops for club attendees.

- Moderated a student and parent panel for the parents and supporters of all incoming freshmen.- Assisted with the planning and management of the Parent and Supporter Evening Social.- Fostered communication between parents and multiple offices and departments on campus- Addressed parent questions both through the parent helpline and email communication.- Worked collaboratively to assist with the planning of the 2015 Parent and Family Weekend.

- Coordinate weekly meetings with five first-year student athletes- Provide academic support and assist with goal development and problem solving abilities- Generate weekly reports that document academic progress throughout the quarter- Provide strategies and skills for effective study habits that foster independent learning- Aide and advise in course selection and quarterly schedule development

- Provide career counseling to students in all majors and grades with the focus on, resume & cover letter review, mock interviews, internship/job search, change of major exploration, and salary negotiation - Assist with the supervision and training of four graduate assistant career advisors- Give classroom, clubs, athletic teams, and Greek chapter presentations on career related services- Network and collaborate with local and national employers at both large scale career fairs, and smaller panels and networking sessions -Utilize technology and social media platforms such as LinkedIN, Big Interview, Focus2 s elf-assessment, Mustang Jobs, and Prezi to facilitate career and internship exploration

-Over the course of 10+ years employed-Customer service, food and beverage service, staff training and development, payroll support, and shift management.

-Lead program designer for the Pen15 Club, a performance and discussion event for students to explore the role of positive masculinity and gender stereotypes/expectations while in college.-Co-Facilitated a quarterly training titled G.E.M training (Gender Equity Movement), for students who are interested in learning more about gender, positive masculinity, feminism, and social justice.-Acted as the gender and positive masculinity educator and consultant for the Men of Color weekly student meetings.-Assisted with the training and development of student assistant staff, led and organized staff meetings, and outreached to faculty and staff to provide gender 101 classroom presentations.

-Provided trainings and presentations on consent, sexual assault prevention & advocacy, and healthy masculinity.-Led a student discussion group on safe sex practices & health and wellness.-Collaborated with student assistants, graduate assistants, and professional staff on events, trainings, and outreach for issues surrounding sexual assault prevention and relationship violence prevention.-Worked with a team to organize and facilitate Take Back the Night, a campus and community event to raise awareness about ways to prevent sexual assault, rape, and gender-based violence.
