• Ensure compliance of the quality management system, customer specifications, and national code for the Wind Tower (AWS) and Tank (ASME) divisions at the Tulsa plant• Develop and refine internal auditing structure and teams to ensure these programs were supportive of the business and reactive to rapid changes in the industry, customers, and local issues.• Lead and teach root cause analysis activities for quality related findings and issues utilizing 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagrams. Teams have completed over 60 in-depth root cause analyses to date.• Monitor and implement quality data collection, tracking, and review utilizing Quick Base data management software.• Perform and lead actions to prepare the plant for new product builds and perform inspections of first articles for approximately 20 new tower models. Structural Towers and Containers Division• Recruited, staffed, and trained plant level continuous improvement team consisting of two engineers, a specialist, and a fabricator• Led the implementation of the Operational Excellence methodology for the Wind Tower division consisting of elements of Lean manufacturing, Theory of Constraints, and 5S• Participated in yearly BU strategic planning meetings, alignment of plant level activity roadmaps to those business objectives, and KPI development• Developed Lean methodology training material, analyzed factory/ production flow, developed optimized flow plans, and implemented processes for waste reduction• Created post event audit program to ensure sustainment of improvements• Continuous improvement team accomplished the completion of 15 OpEx events, 9 Kaizen events, 1 supplier Kaizen event, 58 improvement projects, and over 60 fabrication projects• Achieved savings of approximately $897,000 through reduction in hours per tower, overtime, and MRO spending ($85K)
