I currently work in several different technologies on a routine basis. I help maintain an existing Xamarin mobile app written in C#, as well as some web services written in C#. I also work on several angular websites both internal and external facing, several RESTful web services written in NestJS using TypeScript, and just recently I began to learn Flutter as we've started a rewrite project of a client facing mobile app.

I was given the opportunity to join a new team at American National (ANPAC) in October of 2013. This team is called the Client Experience team, and is focused on creating a great experience for those that we call clients, which are primarily clients, or people who have policies with American National as well as Agents that work for American National. We began a new project to implement a CRM system in early 2014, and I was given the role of Integration Lead for phase 1 of the CRM project. This role was responsible for coordinating all of the integrations between our CRM system and other internal and external systems. These integrations were mostly done using SSIS packages and web service calls. We finished phase 1 of this CRM implementation in December of 2014. After phase 1 was completed, I was charged with improving our build/deployment process for our CRM system. I worked with our TFS code repository and build system to help us begin to be able to version our changes, as well as begin automating parts of the build to reduce manual intervention and points of failure in the deployment process.In June 2015, I was removed from the CRM project and moved over to a new endeavor for our company of building mobile applications for iOS and Android. This initially including working on an existing app that a 3rd party had created for our company, and eventually moved into writing new apps. We began using Xamarin to build our apps using C#.

I did a short period as an automation leader where I focused more on the software development lifecycle, documentation and higher level planning. I worked on things like time allocations, project charters, business requirements documents, etc. This was great experience for me and helped me learn and broaden the scope of how I looked at development, how the projects I'm working on fit into the larger picture of what the company is doing as a whole, and helped me work on my communication skills working with both business users and project sponsors as well as developers.

During this 3 year stretch, I went through the progression of Software Engineer I, II, and III. I began to specialize in web technologies and transitioned from VB.NET to C# as the language of choice for new development. I continued to educate myself with the latest technologies including .NET 4.0 and ASP.NET MVC. I obtained an MCTS certification in Web Applications Development with .NET Framework 4 in April 2013. In addition to learning more about technologies, I continued to education myself more on insurance principles and the business of insurance.

I began working for ANPAC after I graduated from college with my bachelor's degree. This job gave me experience with VB6, VB.NET, and Classic ASP working with various customer and Insurance Agent facing applications, as well as supporting back-end systems. I continued my education during this time taking graduate courses toward an MBA, as well as some bootcamp type training courses to get up to speed on VB.NET.
