For more than nine years, I've held positions in various types of social work, personally assisting community members who are struggling in at least one aspect of life and improving lives through personal intervention and support. My greatest strength lies with my interpersonal skills and diplomatic abilities. I am currently an 8th grade social studies teacher and department head at a middle school in Houston ISD. Working with students has been my focus for many years, including helping students struggling with attendance get on track to obtain their diploma; adapting curriculum to assist students with various learning styles; and developing teaching methods for ELL learners to succeed.
