About Travis Spaniel
I started in the automotive industry like most, as a technician. Gained training from the NASCAR Technical Institute before also completing Ford FACT and Mercedes-Benz Elite in 2008. During a hiring freeze for Mercedes-Benz I took the only job that I could find as a lube tech for a Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealer in Bellevue, WA. I worked hard and proved myself and was transferred to the main shop quickly. From there I was transferred to the companies Ford store in Bellevue due to my Ford FACT Certifications. Within 3 more years I had attained Senior Master status. During this time I joined the Army Reserves as a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter crew chief and served 8 years with one combat deployment to Afghanistan. I worked as a technician/soldier until 2017 when I left the Army reserves and switched gears to technical training and started teaching the Ford ASSET program at Renton Technical College. I instructed there for four years. I am now a Ford Service Training Instructor for the Seattle region employed through my alma mater, Universal Technical Institute! I enjoy the art of teaching and the rewarding nature of developing and mentoring upcoming technicians in today's latest technologies!
