My very first job I ever had was a summer job with Sharp’s Soil Services. At this places of employment, I learnt how to operate a forklift, how to deal with shipping/receiving duties of a warehouse, and gained some knowledge in customer service. We would deal with farmers from around the local area, helping them with fertilizer, both dry and wet. Sharp’s Soil Services helped be realize how much a good reputation with customers means to a business. From there, I went on to work with the Town of Wapella as a summer student. This job allowed me to run a loader, and a tractor for grass cutting. We had a lot of grass to cut for the town at that time. We also took care of the water treatment plan where I learnt how to properly execute the tests for potable water. After graduating high school in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. I went into playing Junior B hockey with a few organizations within the PJHL. During my summers at home, I had the opportunity to work with a local contractor, Dave Skiba. Here was where I gathered the knowledge and skills of plumbing, electrical and carpentry. Many miscellaneous jobs came our way, but the most memorable jobs were totally building two homes from scratch. I gained knowledge in shooting levels for grade beams, the importance of grade sloping away from a home, and all general carpentry skills. As time went on, I made the decision to head West to Alberta to work on the pipeline as a labourer. Here was where I had my first taste of camp life and working long hours. Although I enjoyed it my girlfriend at the time, now wife, pushed the option of post secondary on me. After searching for a path, I settled on the BST course at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Regina, Saskatchewan. Here was where I received comprehensive training in maintaining and operating electrical, ventilation, refrigeration and water treatment systems. This course also allowed me to gain enough knowledge to obtain my 5th class power engineering and Refrigeration engineering certificates. After graduating from Sask Polytechnic, I got a job at Saskatchewan WCB working as a Facilities Technician. Here I would work for 4 years until I made the decision to move more into a mechanical role. I was then hired at SeedMaster as a maintenance mechanic. After SeedMaster, I was then hired at Comairco. Where we specialize in air compressor and air system components.
