About Travis Tiddy
My journey with The Unconformity began with a fundamental belief: that the arts have the power to catalyse profound change, even in the most remote communities. As the founding Artistic Director and CEO, I dedicated over a decade to shaping a pioneering cultural model in Lutruwita/Tasmania. The Unconformity evolved from a local initiative into a globally recognised arts festival, celebrated for its commitment to site-responsive art making, innovations in regional place branding and identity, significant contributions to the regional economy, and central role in community transformation.Reflecting my regional upbringing, my growth as a leader has been grounded in values of integrity, trust, consultation, and collaboration. I believe in long-term planning and aiming for lasting impact; that to implement change you need to get involved, bridge differences, champion inclusivity, and unite people in meaningful ways.I thrive on strategic planning and developing forward-thinking strategies that foster cultural growth. I enjoy uniting people behind a shared mission, understanding the interconnected nature of our cultural landscape from grassroots creativity to high-level government policy. My core skills include building positive relationships, partnership development, artistic direction, navigating funding structures, securing multi-year commitments from state and national bodies, organisational management and governance, and public speaking. As a creative professional and consultant, my work history has included visual communications, interpretation planning, community consultation, developing local government cultural strategy, and conceiving and implementing public art.Notable achievements include being awarded the Winston Churchill Fellowship, Tasmanian Premier's Young Achiever in Tourism, and the Claudio Alcorso international travel scholarship.Looking forward, I am eager to explore new opportunities to utilise my skills, networks, and experience. At the conclusion of my fifteen-year journey with The Unconformity, I look forward to contributing my energy and voice to a new environment.
