I am responsible for managing the analytical and physical chemistry teaching laboratories, in conjunction with a research instrumentation service laboratory. I lead the training of teaching assistants, supervise their work in the laboratory, and ensure their enforcement of departmental safety policies. Working alongside faculty, I develop and implement experiments for courses in the chemistry department. I maintain and operate the instrumentation in the research service laboratory, which includes IC, HPLC, and GC-MS instruments, as well as atomic absorption, IR, and UV-Vis spectrometers. In collaboration with both academic and industrial researchers, I develop methods to meet the analytical needs of their projects. I provide training to researchers, perform analyses as requested, and contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals.
