Manage worldwide release operations. This includes managing Release Engineering Teams for the AMER, EMEA and APAC Regions. The scope of this role includes resource allocation, budgeting, along with providing guidance and direction for all of my employees in the areas of professional development, industry trends, system design, administration and maintenance.Oversee the administration, integration, and training for multiple tools, including Perforce, Coverity Static Analysis, Hudson, AnthillPro, Bugzilla, JIRA, among others. This also includes overseeing on-call support, distribution, and disaster recovery scenarios to ensure the integrity of our worldwide operations (500+ distributed developers).Research industry trends to ensure applicable technologies or methodologies are either considered or implemented (e.g. automation, virtualization, clouds, etc). In 2010, labor savings exceeded $90,000 (US) per year per product line through automation and virtualization combined.Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure that roadblocks are removed. Common points of contact include IT, Legal, Engineering Management, Project Management, Product Management, and Executive Management.Oversee the construction, archival, traceability and delivery of our companies products and projects. In 2010, nearly 600 deliveries (2-4 compiles each) were produced across multiple embedded architectures.Provide guidance to Release Engineering Teams for optimizing processes. In 2010, through process changes and automation, release cycle durations were reduced from five days to less than one day for multiple product lines.

Performed all functions within the scope of Software Configuration Management and Release Engineering worldwide.Design, implementation and administration of multiple build farms which target multiple embedded architectures and utilize virtualization to improve the visibility of changes, and provide a framework for automating testing or Lifecycle automation. This system reduced the amount of time to locate defects from days to hours, and provided a means to increase the synchronization of teams with project interdependencies.Design, implementation, administration, and training for a worldwide deployment of the Perforce Version Control System. This included permission schemes, triggers, evangelism, user creation, documentation, and training for 200+ users.Integrated Defect Tracking and Version Control Systems for easily correlating codeline changes to defects, allowing additional insight into existing or reopened defects, and increasing the quality of release documentation.Integrated static code analysis into the build system, reducing the number of field-discovered defects in the Company's Flagship product, and increasing our Customer's confidence of our products.Implemented and administered worldwide Defect Tracking Systems (Bugzilla, Mantis, and Jira).Defined a companywide framework for standard release processes to improve the consistency of the Company's releases and to help manage our customer's expectations.Performed release process audits for international offices within the company.

Performed all functions within the scope of Software Configuration Management and Release Engineering for the Americas Region.Design, implementation and administration of a build farm which targeted multiple embedded architectures utilizing virtualization to improve the visibility of changes, and reduce the amount of time to locate defects from days to hours. This system was deprecated in pursuit of a worldwide implementation.Administration of the Defect Tracking (Bugzilla & Mantis) and Version Control Systems (CVS & VSS) for the Denver office (70+ users).Utilized Virtual Machines to create standardized, clean room build environments to help reduce the impact of build environments on the number of field-discovered defects for embedded applications. These systems were also shared with developers, which reduced the time needed to setup new embedded development environments from 1 week to 3 hours or less.Automated the release processes for projects, which improved the quality of the releases and reduced the construction time from 3 hours to 45 minutes (on average).Construct and deliver software releases to internal organizations and customers.
