Growing up, Travis always had a love of writing. He excelled in English and eventually started writing his own stories.This passion led him to enroll in UBC’s Creative Writing program, where he would go on to earn his bachelor’s degree.Following graduation, Travis was hired by a gardening products wholesaler as their Content Specialist.During this time, he wrote magazine ads, website copy, and blogs, and his love of the art of copywriting began to grow.Always on the lookout for new challenges, Travis eventually accepted the role of Marketing Coordinator with Oak Bay Marine Group. Soon after he was promoted to Social Media and Creative Content Coordinator.In this position, he took on new roles in addition to copywriting. This including social media and email marketing, project management, and SEO.Despite his success in marketing, Travis always had an entrepreneurial itch. While with OBMG, he created his own website in his free time. Using his knowledge of SEO, he targeted a number of low competition keywords. He eventually ranked the site first on Google and would later sell it for a large profit. In 2017, Travis joined First West Credit Union as a Marketing Specialist, taking on more project management duties and overseeing all the in-branch marketing for his region.However, as he progressed in his marketing career, he found he was writing less and less. Wishing to start his own business and focus on what he loved, he left First West in 2018 to begin a career as a freelance copywriter.Using the extensive portfolio he had built up throughout his career, Travis steadily grew his client base.
