Senior Software EngineerHarness Jun 2023 - PresentTampa, Florida, Us- Developed a new more cohesive frontend architecture for all of Harness’ applications. Primary features included - a monorepo architecture, - a custom themable whitelabel-friendly component and style library using react-aria for strong a11y support and styled-components CSS-in-JS for the easiest css maintenance experience. - component-level testing with storybook that ensured WCAG 2.2 AA compliance at the component level. Also included automatic documentation of our component library. - Multiple NextJS frontend applications following SSR best practices. - Each application would build and deploy based on whether or not they were affected by changes in the monorepo. - Github actions with PR/staging/production environments, deploying to cloudflare pages with terraform. - Began implementation of plan to move all out-of-date VueJS applications to NextJS. -
Software EngineerGroundfloor Finance Sep 2020 - Jul 2023Atlanta, Georgia, Us• Laid the design groundwork for a new brand 'Stairs' that later defined the look and feel for a rebrand of Groundfloor.• Planned, designed and illustrated multiple marketing sites from competitor/user research to prototyping, to building the pages themselves.• Worked on design system for use across multiple application frontends using Bulma / Sass, and the Buefy component framework.• Used VueJS / Nuxt / Typescript / Sass / Vuex / Pinia / Rails / Active Admin / GraphQL / Cypress to build multiple applications and internal tools.• Designed the user experiences of two amazing mobile applications from the ground up (writing up specs, flowcharts, sketches, wireframes, and prototypes in Adobe XD with assets created in Adobe Illustrator).• Planned and oversaw the move from Vue 2 to Vue 3 across multiple applications.• Designed and built the frontend and admin interfaces for a brand new e-commerce style product checkout flow using Vue / Vuex / GraphQL / Active Admin / Rails.• Converted a vue-cli webpack application to Vite, improving build times by roughly 60%.• Helped React developers learn to use VueJS.• Utilized Jira / Slack / Scrum project management framework / and agile methodologies. When I joined Groundfloor, they only had 5 or 6 developers. Now they're rapidly approaching 50. Freelance Frontend Developer -- Amaya Editing Inc.Travis Design & Development Jun 2019 - May 2020• Rebuilt frontend for a global fintech application. • Worked with the Vue/Laravel stack. • Built the ui of the application's email messaging platform allowing users to send and receive emails with attachments, and search emails. • Email sending was needed for users to communicate with banks and remittance services, so their content was limited to simple text and pdf/text attachments. • Moved application from Bootstrap to Vuetify as it better synergized with Kaoshi's look and feel while providing the design components we needed to move rapidly through the design process. • Planned user flow and experience through the application's core functionality.Kaoshi's founder had a fantastic idea for an application. When I came onboard, Amaya Editing Inc. had built in some functionality of the frontend, and had just reached the stage where they were beginning to work through how a user would actually experience the application. I modernized the look and feel of the UI, then I worked with my agency and Kaoshi's founder to map and streamline the expected user routes. After this I was able to begin work on new features, like building the design of their new in-app user email system, and rebuilding the core user interaction touch-points in a more streamlined way.
