Project Engineer | Project Manager | Acting Ops Manager (6 Months)
Worked at Palfinger Australia as both the acting Operations Manager (6 months) and as a Project Engineer, I have a fortunate viewpoint of the complete sale. I was included from the initial contact with the customers right through to the final handover, either overseeing or performing the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and dispatch of vehicle loading cranes, hookloaders and skiploaders, ensuring that all installations meet all relevant Australian Standards.Prior to my arrival, Palfinger did not have an engineering department, putting me in the fortunate and exciting, be it quite daunting position of starting from scratch. Since then, with help from a great team, we have been able to implement manufacturing scheduling, created necessary documentation, created a standard subframe package, helping to reduce labour and material costs, whilst standardising the Palfinger product, improved production output (from roughly 4 units a month to an average of 11 units per month), reduced costs, created a quote program and a 3D and 2D drawing library of all common components.
Project Engineer
I worked within the Project Engineer team of ProMinent Fluid Controls, where I worked across the complete sale process, from planning the design with the customer right through to commissioning onsite installation. Completing these projects gave me an excellent opportunity to liaise with a vast array of stakeholders, sales, manufacturing and directly with the customers.
