While in this role I have planned and implemented a transition for waterfall development to agile development. This has involved interviewing and hiring a dedicated SCRUM master along with being the secondary decision maker on all other hires for the teams.Additional accomplishments include building up a dedicated DevOps team, including hiring a lead for the DevOps team once it was scaled up and had a clearly defined vision.As a product owner I work with a team of 5 developers and am responsible for setting our team's product goals and requirements through consultation and information solicitation with our direct product sponsors, the company's executive.While supporting the development team, I often jump in to support architecture refinement and provide assistance with challenging code or technology hurdles. This is possible due to my expertise and history as a developer.

Main application developer for a Train Monitoring system developed in Microsoft Visual C++. This includes a light weight SQL based database for logging information and updating a real-time display. All queries were had tuned for optimal performance on the target system.Application developer responsible for new features and bug fixes in a C# written Windows Service that communicates with trains via a wireless link. The service uses a MS SQL Server database to store and retrieve information required to communicate with the train and provides the information for a Web UI. Key features of this position include writing Transact SQL stored procedures, view, table design, and C# asynchronous programming.Responsibilities also include some work in embedded C, writing of test procedures, preforming said procedures, and supporting customers with diagnosing issues.

My current position has me participating in numerous activities including bug fixing, architecture design, technical documentation, development planning, developer mentoring and interviewing candidates. While in this position the software development process has seen a complete review and overhaul with a switch from Waterfall development to Agile development supported by Unit Test Tools and Automation of build. I was responsible for the initial deployment of our Automation Server, using Atlassian's Bamboo, and showing the ROI. Since that proof-of-concept the company has moved to having a dedicated DevOps team for supporting the automation of software building, testing, deployment and metric generation.Other activities while first in the position included working to complete development of, mature and deploy an Enterprise Fleet Monitoring system for Rail Transit Systems while overseeing other developers and coordinating with the clients. My work with Sqlite was targeted at an embedded Linux system and involved query optimization, and other performance optimizations, including enabling shared-cache mode, and WAL (Write Ahead Log).Write custom firmware updater tools that can run on Windows XP, Vista, 7, and Mac OSX. Have also developed firmware on the 8051 architecture using the C51 compiler. This code was optimized for space primarily and then for speed since the available resources are very limited.I am also responsible for basic IT duties, including backup management, quoting for workstations and server, configuring new hardware, and general user support.
