I am a nationally registered paramedic. I entered the department as a probationary EMT and I have been assigned to the busiest medic unit in the department since I graduated from the academy. I am cleared to function as an acting EMS Lieutenant and have been authorized to do so for approximately one year now. I provide advanced life support to the citizens of Baltimore County and neighboring jurisdictions.

I have volunteered with this local emergency services organization since I was able to join at the age of 16. I have served in the roles of EMT, firefighter, paramedic, and fire Sargent in this organization. I was also part of the organization's IT committee, building planning committee, and several other committees during my tenure so far. I was awarded firefighter of the year during one of my first five years with this organization.

I started with this organization as a member of a cadet (youth) program. I desired to get an early start in learning about firefighting and emergency medical services. During this time I was able to participate in hands on training activities and learn the organizational structure of the fire service. From there I became an active member and obtained multiple firefighting, EMS, and technical rescue certifications. I assisted in teaching subsequent members of the cadet program. I later, at the age of 18, became appointed to the position of fire lieutenant. I held this position for a total of approximately 4 years. I also served as the company's sergeant at arms for a one year period. While acting as a lieutenant I ran command on several emergency incidents, to include structure fires, rescue assignments, and complex medical incidents. I also organized training programs at the company level and worked in a supervisory role on a daily basis.

I began working for this company certified as an emergency medical technician basic. I started off as an Advanced Life Support and Specialty Care Transport Emergency Vehicle Operator. As an emergency vehicle operator I would assist the Paramedic and nurse crew members with setting up medicine administration pumps and ventilators. I later obtained my paramedic license and served as a paramedic for inter facility advanced life support patient transfers. I would care for patient's on ventilators, specific medicine drips, and cardiac monitors. We transferred patient's to facilities for advanced procedures, intensive care admissions, and cardiac catheterizations.

Provided basic life support to patients during inter-facility and routine patient transportation. Transported patients with varying acute and chronic medical conditions to and from facilities and private residences. Patient population ranged from the elderly and dialysis patients to younger patient's with specific psychiatric or other chronic health concerns.

I worked in a large hydroponic greenhouse in the mornings and then in the business's retail store in the afternoons on most days. I was responsible for assisting in the planting, weeding, and removal of plants grown in the greenhouse. I also operated large farm equipment at the greenhouse and aided with the construction of new sections of greenhouse. When working in the retail space I interacted with customers, worked the register, and helped to organize and stock the florist shop and supply areas. I also served as a delivery driver for the business. I would take flower deliveries to their recipients in a timely fashion.
