About Travis Lee Ratcliff
I am an independent filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. My documentary and narrative work has been featured in film festivals across the United States and by online outlets including Short of the Week, Nowness, Booooooom, No Film School, Criterion, Film School Rejects, and Sight & Sound Magazine. I've received past support and recognition by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin for my work profiling Texan artists.My short documentary film, “In the Space Between Ages,” was featured in the SXSW film festival and received a Vimeo Staff Pick, premiering online through Short of the Week.When I'm not writing or directing projects, I'm engaged in film theory and criticism work through my ongoing film history documentary series.As a narrative director my focus is on experimental character driven stories that examine contemporary Texan identity and the problematic legacy of the myth of the West.
