After completing 4 years as an Associate Planner for the Macy’s Executive Development Program, I founded an independent eyewear store.Since 2015, I've retailed eyewear and fashion accessories from small brands and leading designers, striking direct relationships with brand owners and executive leaders.In that time, I bought and fulfilled over 100k units / $5 million of merchandise out of a three-person warehouse and online retail store based in Manhattan.In 2018, I leased and operated an eyewear pop-up shop on the floor of the World Trade Center Oculus.I marketed and cross-sold independent brands alongside leading designers by building automations to test cross-dock purchasing, receiving, fulfillment and customer support.I recruited and hired the help of 20 contractors and interns, many of them local to New York City.I led a distributed team of eight people communicating remotely between New York, the Philippines, and with vendors and customers around the world for sourcing and order support.My focus was on buying, merchandising, hiring, remote team-building, databasing, process design, automation, digital ad spend, transactional marketing, and warehousing/shipping logistics. Today, my interests are in decentralized corporate governance and autonomous equity distribution, crypto token payment rails, retail in the metaverse, and how to market emerging brands with leading designers.

I worked with a team of 4 to drive sales, turn and margin for a $250 million/year Macy's designer men's business. We created unique assortments across 600+ stores; planned, sourced and allocated 1 million+ units of merchandise annually by color, size and location. I analyzed historical sales figures and store-specific climate and demographic attributes to assign goods to the stores in which they have the best chance of selling.

Through research and interviews with merchandise planning experts, I built an inventory optimization tool for Target.com Buyers and Business Analysts to more effectively monitor and maintain efficiency in their department's stock levels. The tool used historical sales and receipt figures and vendor reliability metrics including lead times to develop a conceptual and flexible formula for focusing a department's open-to-buy dollars on its most consistently profitable merchandise. I presented this tool to senior executives of merchandising and was offered a full-time position upon college graduation.

I assisted in private client wealth management by setting up new accounts, modifying investment guidelines and responding to client needs and inquiries. I also participated in creative marketing presentations to pitch new clients.

I retailed desktop and laptop computers sourced through deeply discounted secondary markets. My process included designing ad listings, managing online merchant and shipping accounts, fulfilling orders, and preparing sales records and earnings summaries.

I assembled a database of New York financial firms and executives for a boutique investment banking and private equity executive search and placement team. I reviewed hundreds of executives' education and work experiences and participated in candidate discussions and interviews for C-Suite and Managing Director level positions.

I restructured the Budget department’s records management process and developed online database maintenance procedures. I also sat in on the Budget team’s discussions relating to annual and quarterly financial plans, economic development project challenges and suggested and implemented solutions.
