About Travis Winn

I enjoy building brands that have simple yet compelling stories. What I hope is my last one, Calle has the simplest and most compelling story. Everyone deserves to play and no sport should know this better than soccer/futbol. No other game on the planet can account for so many cultures coming together. It has that power over all other games. I, like millions across America, believe that US Soccer is off the path with their pay to play model. They know it's the issue, yet it's how they make $. They have a real dilemna on their hands. The average price now in the US for a 'decent' soccer journey now tops $2.4k and still heading up. If you're 'serious' about playing at the next level, you may be paying closer to $10k. Meanwhile in Uruguay or Portugal or Spain, they build world class players that get their start playing in the streets with their friends for free. I'm way more curious about doing the opposite. I want to free the game and watch the cream rise to the top - regardless of socioeconomic background - based solely on skill. And document it. And talk about our findings.
