Lead initiative for Packer Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) as part of the roll out to AWS. - Customized HCL Templates for Enterprise Standards including security, encryption, observability and overall deployment time. By customizing the HCL templates and accompanying scripts further I simplified the overall deployment process and increased developer experience if another team member needed to submit a PR or update. - Utilized Jenkins to orchestrate Packer builds into a central AWS account, sharing the image across the organization and regions. - Designed post-processor hooks as part of Jenkins/Packer build process to update SSM parameters within the central AWS account to be read at the organizational level.Designed and implemented a python-based Lambda to call Ansible jobs for post-build configuration. Both server and AWS account provisioning processes were improved and decreased total provisioning time while eliminating manual processes from other teams/departments.Updated existing Terraform, Jenkins and Ansible pipeline processes to eliminate confusion for consumers as well as improve overall developer experience when deploying applications/services to AWS.

Primary automation lead for change in Enterprise Backup initiative. Implemented several Ansible playbooks to automate: - Agent installation and registration during post-provisioning (Virtual and Physical Machines) - Agent uninstallation - SLA Policy assignment - NAS volume registration and prep for backup ingest into the new software. This included several thousand NAS volumes and over 1PB of data. - Wrote python scripts to monitor cluster performance during initial data backups and provide feedback for supporting teams as well as recommendations for performance improvements during initial backups.Helped test and implement the existing Terraform, Jenkins and Ansible pipeline on AWS to improve processes and streamline end-user experience.Performed a proof of concept project to migrate from Ansible Tower (RHEL supported) to AWX (open-source Ansible Tower). - Tested using both on-prem virtual machines (minikube/docker) as well as EKS on Amazon to verify functionality. - Documented changes between closed-source and open-source software versions and outlined primary points of concern with regards to the upgrade process.
