Travonnie is passionate about helping the professionals who serve students feel set up for success, so that all children have access to opportunities to learn and excel. Before joining Edgility, she was an HR Business Partner for an ed policy non-profit, focused on ensuring teachers have a voice in the decisions that impact their work. She supported her internal clients with all aspects of the employee life cycle, including recruitment, selection, development, management and evaluation of their team members. She also worked to revamp org-wide people policies to better align to the organization's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusiveness. She prides herself on her ability to balance human relationships and efficient systems in a way that leaves people feeling empowered and motivated for the road ahead.Earlier in her career, Travonnie worked as classroom teacher and instructional coach, designing effective instruction and impactful training for students and staff. As a coach, she advocated for her educators and developed teacher leaders through innovative cohort work and out of the box thinking. As an elementary teacher, she taught her kids to love learning, find new paths to solutions and to always dress up for spirit days. Travonnie holds a Masters in Early Childhood Education Mathematics from Georgia State University and a Bachelors in Business Administration from Howard University. She currently lives in Clarksville, TN, and spends her free time finding new date ideas for her high school sweetheart and husband, Curtis, and playing with their boys, Tyson and Micah. She loves painting with acrylics, video chatting with friends and finding Amazon boxes on her porch.
