Key components of the internship include:• Participation in the activities of the department that include exposure to creative, digital, business development, market research, news and sponsorship work, and activities to support those projects. • Exposure to operational marketing plans that drive the acquisition and retention of patients, and the metrics that measure success of marketing efforts.• Inclusion in Marketing & Communications planning meetings, daily work huddles and project specific activities. • Exposure to the broader hospital environment and participation in special projects as they arise.• Project work specific to the internship include: - Analysis and evaluation of the return on investment for Mercy’s sponsorship investments and partnerships. Mercy maintains sponsorship relationships with the Oklahoma City Boathouse District, the Oklahoma City EnergyFC, the Oklahoma State University athletic department, and the University of Oklahoma athletic departments. While key components of the sponsorships are clearly delineated, the age-old question of how do we measure the success of the investment and determine the impact for acquiring and retaining patients remains. Work to provide actual dollar value of the sponsorship components as well as traditional reach and frequency metrics associated with marketing components. Research that helps to identify additional metrics that measure contribution of these investments to overall marketing success, specifically to the acquisition and retention of patients, business development relationships, and value as a community partner. -Support and exposure to internal and external communication assignments. Mercy has identified 32 separate ways that we communicate with co-workers and with the public. The internship offers opportunities to develop press releases and internal communication work.
