Abaka simplifies how you plan and pay for healthcare. As CTO, I led the architecture and development of our apps and end-to-end technology stack. As a co-founder, I helped with strategy and planning, business development, and fundraising.

A startup in San Francisco with a social app and a mission to get people off their phones and out into the real world. Led the technology team to architect and build a new product from the ground-up following a product pivot. The new highly-scalable solution attributes include: Server-side: Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs hosted on Amazon AWS and mostly written in GoLang with some NodeJS, Mongo, mySQL, ElasticSearch and Neo4j Graph. Client-side: Native iOS (in Swift) and Android (in Kotlin). End to end solution built and deployed in 5 months. I led the architecture and contributed substantially to the iOS application. I am also responsible for recruiting top developer talent and managing the technical team which is geographically distributed.

Launched a Silicon-Valley startup and built a functional prototype application. This followed 6 years of working with Startups in various capacities in my free-time including writing much of the server-side code for a security startup, contributing substantially to the iOS and Android code of a social startup, building prototypes and running field tests for a hospitality payment startup, and mentoring participants in the MIT $100K entrepreneurship challenge, MassChallenge, and Stanford StartX accelerator programs.

Technology liaison between leadership (CxO and Senior VP level) of Microsoft and Wal-Mart for 4 years. Followed by 3+ years working with senior leadership at Goldman Sachs and a few other Wall Street institutions. Led many software-focused initiatives at both Wal-Mart and Goldman Sachs across a broad technology landscape. Areas included developer ecosystem, web presence and e-commerce, datacenter management, cloud workloads including high-performance modeling, predictive analytics and big data, encryption and privacy, etc. Gained subject matter expertise in areas such as retail merchandising, supply chain and logistics, near real-time data analytics, high-frequency trading, high-performance compute clusters, and highly-secure distributed compute services

A software company within Accenture. I co-founded this group and was the principal product visionary and architect. Co-led the product management and engineering teams to deliver a flagship product and over $50m in sales in the first year. Led the architecture of the Florida Election system (after the 2000 election) and designed solutions for the US Dept of Defense, the Philippines, Singapore among others.

An election services and software company. As Chief Technology Officer, led envisioning, design, and development of election and voting products, actively involved with business development and deal negotiation with hardware partners, and worked with standards bodies, the White House, and US Congress to help define long-term election technology direction and standards.

A software and consulting company. As founder and software architect, I led the design and development of over a dozen software products for State and County government including Financial Accounting, Tax Management, Voter and Election, and Child Support Management. I successfully led the marketing and proposal effort to win numerous multi-million dollar contracts for state-wide implementation.
