From humble beginnings fostered by an individual who saw the need to provide a place for “kids to be kids and to be safe”, The Tree House Center for Youth has grown into a multi-faceted, 21st century youth prevention services organization. Now located in the downtown area of Grand Junction, Colorado, it was founded in 1999 as a response to the lack of proactive services available to high-risk youth in Mesa County. The organization began with the vision of providing a safe and enriching environment, one that is both programmatic and empowering and that is drug, alcohol and violence free. With total programs serving over 1,000 individual youth per year, The Tree House provides a variety of OST (Out of School Time) prevention service opportunities, all of which foster character building, civic engagement, and life skills development. These programs serve youth between the ages of 11-22 in Mesa County. We offer intervention and prevention development opportunities through tailored education, support, advocacy, community involvement, leadership training, and enrichment activities. The Tree House programs bolster self-esteem and positive life choices, nurturing the social, emotional and educational growth of the area’s youth as well as promoting healthy life choices and a positive, productive future.Specialties: Youth Prevention Services
