I am a software engineer with 24 years of experience ranging from development tools and compilers to operating systems, embedded systems, web browsers, and over the last fifteen computational linguistics, knowledge discovery, and information retrieval and extraction in many languages including Chinese, Arabic, Korean, and EFIGS. I have worked in both industry and for groups within the US Dept. of Defense. I've held a high-level security clearance (though that has expired) and know more about character encodings than any normal person should.Knowledge areas include Text Search, Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, Chinese Word Segmentation, Computational Linguistics, Programming Language Design, Dialectology, Lexicography.I live in north eastern Massachusetts and am not open to relocation to other parts of the country.
