Systems Assurance Manager, Rail Systems Development, Operational Systems, Infrastructure and Services Division

My role is to manage the delivery of a safe solution in line with relevant regulatory requirements and standards, including Rail Safety National Law and Work Health and Safety Act for a new building, new technology systems implemented, new ways of working and a changed organisational design.In this role I: - Provide expert level advice to the ROC program leadership on interpretation and use of reports/data extracted from the ROC Program Risk Register. - Maintain, develop and implement of all aspects of the ROC Program Risk Register, including governance, data quality, and application of controls. - Develop systems and processes to enable the ROC program to demonstrate elimination and reduction of risks to safety So Far As Is Reasonably Practicable (SFAIRP). - Provide specialist risk management support, advice and mentoring to the ROC leadership, to develop their risk management competencies and help them deliver against their safety accountabilities, including SFAIRP justifications - Review deliverables from external agencies to ensure they meet Regulatory and Sydney Trains safety requirements. - Prepare and review specialist risk management plans, safety assurance reports, assessments and analysis to drive achievement of targeted risk management objectives. - Provide risk management advice, covering enterprise project risk and system safety risk management, to support informed strategic decision making. - Facilitate risk workshops and provide specialist risk assessments (qualitative and quantitative) using techniques such as PHA, OSHA, FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis to the executive management team in order to support risk based decision making.

My role was to provide expert risk management advice, capability and capacity to senior leadership, to support achievement of operational and risk management requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.In this role I: - Provided advice to Directors on interpretation and use of reports and data extracted from the SEQR Risk Register and quantitative assessment model. - Implemented all aspects of the Sydney Trains Operational Safety Risk Register for CSD owned risks, including governance, data quality, and application of controls. - Prepared and reviewed risk management plans, reports, assessments and analysis to support achievement of risk management objectives and targets. - Provided risk management advice covering enterprise risk, operational risk and project risk management disciplines, to support informed strategic decision-making. - Developed and managed the quantitative risk assessment model in line with industry best practice. - Provided specialist risk assessments using techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis and Cost Benefit Analysis to the executive management team and other business units, to support risk-based decision-making. - Performed change assessments, hazard analysis and risk assessments to facilitate identification of risks, and inform appropriate risk management strategies to address them. - Maintained and developed SEQR and operational risk registers to identify, record and report on issues, and coordinate risk management activities. - Provided specialist risk management support, advice and mentoring to line management and staff, to develop their risk management competencies and help them deliver against their safety accountabilities.

-Development and management of a System Safety Management Plan-Develop and maintain System Safety processes and procedures for C-130J -Perform System and Software Safety analyses -Oversee the management of the C-130J System Hazard Log-Oversee the reliability analysis of Safety Critical Items-Chair and coordinate System Safety Working Groups-Actively participate in Systems Engineering Reviews-Preparation of Safety cases for Configuration Control Boards and Airworthiness boards as required-Conduct engineering workshops and participate in specialty engineering working groups-Develop and deliver System Safety and OHS training activities and mentoring-Develop and manage RAM processes -Perform Technical Investigations-Liaise with other AA System Safety Engineers to ensure best practice and shared knowledge.-Support the CENGR in managing the AEO Engineering Management System with procedure updates, training and audit planning.

-Perform System and Software Safety Assessments;-Prepare Safety Case Reports;-Maintain the C-130J Hazard Log;-Carry out reliability analysis for safety critical items;-Actively participate in System Safety Engineering Reviews;-Actively participate in System Safety Working Groups;-Perform Technical Investigations (as required); and-Liaise with other AA Engineers to ensure best practice and shared knowledge.

-Manage and develop Through Life Support Engineering design tasks in the areas of: Mechanical systems, and Aircraft structural repairs (composite and metal) in accordance with the level and scope of delegate Engineering Authority;-Provide technical solutions to in-service for all strucutral issues on the ARH to accomplish day to day tasks, including but not limited to deviations, substitutions, modications, special technical instructions, and instructions for continuing airworthiness and associated logistics outputs.-Perform and manage Technical Information and technical investigations of problems or changes emanating from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), maintenance, production, logistics or operating environment;-Provide support and technical expertise to Maintenance organisation and ARH Chief Engineer in the area of the ARH airframe (composite / metal).-Maintain and improve the ARH Structural Repair Manual with support of the OEM.-Develop non-standard repairs for the ARH airframe and liaise with OEMs when required to ensure stress requirements are fully integrated.-Maintain technical knowledge and awareness of developments (design change) related to ARH aircraft structure.-Provide support to the SME regarding the Structural Integrity Management Plan.-Support on-going continous improvement initatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other capability improvements.-Comply with relevant Engineering Management Plans (EMP), Business Unit and Company Policies and Procedures;-Liaise with the services, operators, maintainers, airworthiness authorities and members of the relevant Design Support Network in Australia and overseas as appropriate to ensure design integrity;-Participate in and provide input to management and technical reviews and reports as required;
