I am currently a Junior at the University of Iowa majoring in Finance. Through my experience at Kirkwood Community College, the University of Iowa, and my role in management at Panera Bread, I have been able to develop leadership skills such as communication, decision-making, delegation, problem solving, and motivation. I have learned to welcome new challenges as well as the ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds.Right around the time of the pandemic I became increasingly interested in economics, finance, accounting, and other topics that all centered around one critical theme: money. This led me down a path of rigorous research involving many late nights scouring the web for anything interesting related to the history of money, its application, its different forms, and even a basic definition of what money is. To this day I am still trying to find an answer to that seemingly simple question, and that is why I decided to enroll through Kirkwood in the Financial Services program. Still unsatisfied with what I've learned so far, I decided to further my education through the University of Iowa with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics.I have come across many varying explanations for money, and my favorite documentary is Princes of the Yen (free on youtube. look it up!) However, I believe the most intriguing emergence of money is Bitcoin. Currently I seek to further my education in financial topics to figure out where I can apply my study of Bitcoin and the new industrial revolution taking place within the financial sector.
