My journey in mechanical engineering has afforded me the experience in team building environments, project management, and time management. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to network with manufacturers, suppliers, and program coordinators throughout various projects. Many of my skills come from being a non-traditional student that has experienced many aspects of the professional world. My desire to solve interesting problems, unwillingness to accept failure, and my motivation to create innovative new products are things that I will bring to your company. As president of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) – University of Memphis chapter, I oversaw multiple project teams competing in Baja SAE and Formula SAE competitions with 20+ members. This included ensuring that our officers and members were operating to a respectable standard and within the bounds of good engineering practice. Also, it was necessary for me to continue a close relationship with our faculty advisors in order to gain his approval through various stages of the projects. These experiences have improved my quality of leadership, ability to work with a team, and ingenuity to persevere through high stress project deadlines.
