Globally General Mills is a large organisation with over 30,000 employees with multiple operations in Australia.Provision of leadership and development of maintenance department including maintainers, team leaders, planning and scheduling and maintenance storepersons. Included performance management and extensive dealings with Union delegates.Controlled maintenance budget, oversaw optimisation of critical spares store and maintenance strategies and tactics. Introduction and implementation of maintenance and reliability best practices, including concepts of defect elimination, tactics development, hydrocarbon management and condition monitoring.Involvement in leading Continuous Improvement activities. Also a site leader in development of maintenance safety processes and a management representative on the site OH&S committee.

Role Involved: - Developing procedures for accurate reliability reporting & data acquisition - Analysing reliability data to identify fault trends and major concerns - Conducting RCA & FMEA meetings with maintenance personnel - Implementing reliability projects and a Defect Elimination program to provide countermeasures for major concerns - Utilising SAP data to assess effectiveness of maintenance strategies and intervals - Developing workshop procedures to create reliability minded maintenance practices

Whilst on Ford Motor Company graduate program, held roles of maintenance supervisor, production supervisor & Maintenance engineer.Majority of time was spent as maintenance supervisor of car body shop fabrication. 24 hour operation meant time spent supervising across day, afternoon and night shift. Role included direct supervision of up to 40 tradespeople in a heavily unionised environment and provision of maintenance and reliability engineering support.

Graduate Mechanical Engineer - accountabilities included project management, design and installation of high pressure air & gas systems predominantly in a marine defence environment (RAN ships and submarines).
