My primary tasks are in wood, concrete, and steel structural design. I model and analyze these structures in RISA 3D, RISA Connection, Revit, Mathcad, ENERCALC, and in-house Excel spreadsheets. My secondary task is functioning as the primary structural inspector. Talking with clients and field work are an important part of the projects I work on. Structural investigation for insurance purposes is another industry I assist in.

RL Scott LLC is a private civil engineering company. The projects I work on are structural. I function as a drafter, structural analyzer, and project manager. Create 3D models and 2D drawings for residential and industrial construction using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Recap, and Scene. Use Ram Elements, Mathcad, and various code manuals (e.g. ACI 318, AISC, and ASCE) to complete design calculations for these projects. Work with Scene to produce 3D models of laser scan results. Project manage with clients to communicate and problem solve each design iteration to ensure their needs and budget are met in a timely manner. Perform secretarial duties for the front desk of the men's dormitories, Sittner and Meske.These duties include information resources, answering and directing phone calls, receiving and organizing mail, coordinating desk services and recording important desk events in Excel. Also operated the night desk for after hours check-in and check-out.

Organized watershed area study for a well head protection plan. This included meeting with local business owners within the well head protection area and compiling the results for review. The results were consolidated on Google Earth for ease of viewing via geolocation and tagged organization. Used software like WhAEM2000 and AutoCAD to draw out the well head protection zones using surface runoff and groundwater data. The groundwater data used for the study was gleaned from previous studies done at the water district and some was from state and federal sources like USGS and DOE.Aided in general office work using Excel and Word for the water district.
