Residence Hall Director

• Oversaw the day-to-day operations of a residential community of approximately 220-400 students in a traditional community-style hall, housing a mix of first-year and upperclass students. • Directly supervised one Assistant Residence Hall Director (graduate student), between 7 (2018-2019) to 14 (2019- present) Community Advisors, one Health Advocate (peer wellness educator) and indirectly supervised one Desk Manager and 10 to 14 Desk Workers. • Ensured day-to-day operations of building were run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities included room change meetings and paperwork, roommate mediations, facility concerns follow-up, building rounds, time approval for staff, and handling student and parent concerns. • Connected students of concern to campus resources and partners with the UWO Student Care Team as needed.• Advised/co-advised the building hall council, providing student leadership development opportunities, support for building programming, and hearing feedback/concerns from residents and following up as appropriate. • Facilitated weekly staff development activities with the building ARHD related to leadership, diversity and inclusion, job performance, etc. • Adjudicated violations of the Community Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and the UWS Code of Conduct through Maxient for cases up to second offense alcohol and marijuana. • Managed a building budget of up to $8,000 for hall staff, hall council, and building-wide programming initiatives and for professional and student staff developments. • Participated in a 24/7 emergency on-call response rotation for a residential population of about 3,000 students.
