Program Manager
CurrentPromoted to focus on streamlining policies and procedures within the college as well as to align said policies and procedures more closely with university policies. Create transparency for administrators, faculty, staff, & students and help reduce barriers, empower students, create trust among constituents, improve morale, and form a stronger culture. Collaborate with individuals within and outside the college on various projects and procedures to ensure diversity and inclusiveness. Create and run detailed queries to obtain necessary data for college, university, and state reporting purposes. Instrumental in helping our office transition from completely paper-dependent files to paperless pre-COVID. Receive annual performance-based bonuses.
Academic Advisor
Due to achievements, I was promoted from Program Coordinator to Academic Adviser where I again received annual performance-based bonuses. I monitored student performance for all CEAS Sophomore, Pre-Junior, Junior, and Senior students to catch students who were struggling, not following the correct curriculum and/or not registered. If needed, I recommended appropriate academic sanctions to the College Academic Standards Committee and notify students so we could identify and evaluate options before they got too far into academic trouble and/or debt. Discussed career objectives and options including alternate majors to reach students’ career goals and/or explored new career possibilities with both at-risk and good-standing students. Additionally, I met with students to explain rules, procedures, and exceptions to ensure a smooth process and avoid unnecessary student frustration. In an effort to help students to the best of my ability, I developed solid working relationships with other offices to facilitate smooth communication channels and help students and enhance work effectiveness. Awarded annual bonuses.
Program Coordinator
In this role, it was imperative to comply with state-wide regulations as I collected and analyzed data then created reports for the Ohio Board of Regents as well as the entire college for things like grant proposals, scholarship decisions, etc. Additionally, I conducted the CEAS annual senior report with the utmost discretion. By using a direct email marketing campaign and SurveyMonkey data collection rather than the previously used paper system, I was able to boost the reply rate from 24.7% to 43.2%. Then I interpreted and prepared the data for easy presentation and interpretation while protecting the respondents’ identity. In addition, I performed HR personnel functions such as approving time and reappointing staff using UC Flex. Additionally, I recruited, selected, trained, scheduled, supervised and evaluated a graduate assistant and three student assistants to be the “face” of the office and help increase productivity. I also evaluated procedures for quality, appropriateness, and effectiveness then made and implemented recommendations. I also saw students in order to help them navigate the college’s and university’s policies and procedures, contemplate academic options. During my time in this role, I received annual performance-based bonuses.
Adjunct Instructor
I taught sophomore through senior undergraduates a variety of career development topics to increase interview chances and the probability of getting a job, as well as successful transition into the workforce. Part of this was bringing in employers and students for a co-op/alumni panel to give students "real world" perspectives. Additionally, I planned and created interactive lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments to keep students engaged.
Career Development Specialist
This was a great position where I got to educate students, utilize technology and organize events in order to help talented students & alumni connect with excellent employers. Remaining up to date with job search and hiring trends was imparitive to providing the most accurate and impactful information to students, faculty and employers. Presentation topics included job search, resume, interview, networking, social media, and step up to stand out. Employed excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to coordinate in-demand events for students, alumni and employers.
Interim Student Life Director
While the Career Development Specialist, I had the magnificent opportunity to take on a whole new role and set of responsibilities as the Interim Student Life Director. I co-developed and implemented a variety of events including new student convocation for a group of over 200 students, student awards ceremony honoring over 500 students, and Spring Fling for over 1,100 students, faculty and staff. It was exciting to select, train, lead and supervise 25 students to guide a day-long new student convocation. I also oversaw six student organizations’ actions & budgets and advised Student Court.
