From just a regular student athlete in High School to the male representative of my prestigious university, I can attest to the statement, "your greatest accomplishments are always ahead of you."Throughout my college matriculation I have been awarded several leadership positions that have allowed me to host constructive events for the student body of WSSU and develop my professional attributes. Winston-Salem State University has properly prepared me to depart and serve. Now equipped with excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to plan and manage resources, and the capacity to effectively deliver presentations, I am eager to establish my career. Outside of my Scholastic activities I enjoy serving the community of Winston-Salem. For two consecutive summers I have served as a Student Leader Intern for the Children's Defense Foundation's Freedom School program. This opportunity has allowed me to teach K-12 scholars within the city. Areas of discussion included African-American history, reading, and writing. I even had the chance to teach the young men the importance of chivalry and how to tie ties. Attending WSSU has opened my eyes to the many ways a young man can impact his community. The strength and knowledge that our youth entails should not go unnoticed. That is why I have done my best to amplify the voices and wisdom of my HBCU community.
