Tressa was born and raised in Northern California. She graduated from San Francisco State University in 1992 with a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Tressa has a diverse and varied professional history. In 2018, she began the journey of obtaining her Teacher's certificate and has embraced and valued being a Special Education teacher for the past 2.5 years. She worked on her certificate program, while thoroughly enjoying working as a customer care specialist at REI. For most of her professional life, she has been fortunate to work as a Professional Team Building and Leadership Program Consultant in Oregon, California, Utah, and Texas in both the private and public sector. Her positions and responsibilities have included Ropes Course Program Facilitator and Manager, Team Building and Adventure Therapy Program Design Consultant, Professional Development Team Building Facilitator, and Rock Climbing Guide and Instructor. In addition, while raising her family, she supported a family construction business, was a High Value Residential Insurance Appraiser, and even was a Server at a high end restaurant for a couple of years. She has lived in Texas since 2006 and has three amazing children, whom she is very proud. She has been an avid sports and outdoor adventure enthusiast her entire life. Her outdoor experiences continues to inspire her to live life sustainably and join efforts that work towards healing the earth for the benefit of all. She also enjoys writing and aspires to integrate her love for it in her future professional endeavors.
