After the acquisition of NWEA by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, I became an employee of the NWEA Division of HMH, continuing in the same role I had at NWEA and ensuring there was minimal disruption in content production due to the transition.

• Copyedited assessment content for grammar, readability, functionality, accessibility, and adherence to internal and external style guidelines to ensure content was consistent and free of errors. Edited white papers, teacher-facing instructional materials, and articles intended for journal or Web publication, ensuring content was clear and appropriate for the target audience.• Evaluated assessment content for potential bias and sensitivity issues to avoid the introduction of construct irrelevant variance in the student assessment experience. • Used my Lean Six Sigma Training to established and update workflow processes in content management platforms with the goal to maximize efficiency, reduce redundancies, and minimize risk.• Collaborated with external experts and teachers with specific accessibility needs in their classrooms to develop guidelines for alternative text for images in assessment content.• Led the NWEA committee to maintain internal style guides for multiple assessment products, improving quality and consistency within our assessment products and reducing the need for revisions.• Wrote and reviewed alternative text for images in assessment content, Web content, and presentations, and evaluated content for visual and auditory bias to ensure the content would meet the needs of diverse audiences.• Verified permissioned content was accurate and credit lines matched contracts with rightsholders, minimizing risk of contract violations.• Coordinated projects involving contractors and cross-functional teams to create and review assessment content and establish best practices. • Led a team of five in creating educational content for a monthly current events magazine for English language learners, agilely meeting changing market demands to make LIVE magazine the best-selling monthly English educational publication in Taipei, Taiwan. • Wrote and edited engaging book and magazine content and assessments for English language learners, ensuring factual and grammatical accuracy and an adherence to style guidelines.• Managed freelance writer workflow and quality, and maintained interdepartmental communication to meet challenging publication, filming, and broadcasting deadlines.• Liaised with external companies, including CNN and National Geographic Channel, to obtain dynamic publication content.
