Reporting to the Director, Materials Management I am responsible for five operational groups that are lead by three managers. These groups account for the entire union workforce under materials management.I have to manage quarterly planning, budgets, and overall operational efficiencies.

Focusing heavily on project management, I worked directly with corporate executives re-engineering processes to create efficiencies.Working with cross functional teams I managed project scheduling, documentation, reporting and facilitation.Many of the projects assigned to me were around Lean implementation.

Being one of the first store managers hired, I helped to hire and train the start up team to launch the Calgary retail stores. My managerial experience was quickly recognized and I was awarded the flagship store for Calgary.I had to work closely with the other store managers to retain staff during the legislative delays interrupting the start up the retail arm.

Following the acquisition of Voodoo into HP’s Personal System Group (PSG), I played a key role in transitioning our production staff and facilities to nearly 3 times the size it was. With HP’s financial injection I was able to establish a manufacturing engineering and quality group to ensure a strict quality standard.After establishing this group, I transitioned the manufacturing to a newly appointed manufacturing manager while I continued to manage the engineering team who was responsible for quality and ensuring smooth new product introduction.

Starting out as a computer technician, I quickly moved into a management role, later to become one of the senior management team. I was responsible for all of production, inventory, and service. As we grew I hired, coached, and promoted managers to take over these areas reporting directly to me.With my management team in place I was able orchestrate the transition from a small scale manufacturing shop to a much more structured and professional business. I then continued to direct process improvement initiatives aimed at drastically increasing production capacity, throughput and product quality. With production running smoothly I moved on to facilitating the development of internal software systems to ensure seamless communication across departments resulting in better communication throughout the organization.
