• Tracked and managed state and local legislation, regulations, and ordinances affecting the lawful commerce of firearms and ammunition products, as well as hunting, natural resources and wildlife conservation, and the shooting sports throughout the southeast • Analyzed bills and proposed regulations and recommended position on each issue• Coordinated and worked with elected and appointed officials and staff at the state and local level, and other policy stakeholders on behalf of NSSF and the firearms industry• Advocated in support of, or opposition to, state legislation, regulations, and local ordinances, including drafting letters and/or testimony• Spoke on behalf of NSSF and the firearms industry at committee hearings, commission meetings, city council meetings, as well as to media, reporters, etc.• Hired, managed, directed, and coordinated activities for public affairs and legislative consultants across the country• Drafted position papers, legislative alerts, talking points, and other communications related to issues of importance to the firearm industry, to include hunting and natural resources-related public affairs issues• Coordinated with other sportsmen’s, conservation, and second amendment organizations to build coalitions and work in unison on related issues• Worked with NSSF’s Communications Department to prepare and implement crisis communications strategies as needed The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is the trade association for the firearms industry. Its mission is to promote, protect and preserve hunting and the shooting sports. Formed in 1961, NSSF has a membership of more than 10,000 manufacturers, distributors, retailers, shooting ranges, sportsmen's organizations and publishers.

• Served as a liaison between the NRA and elected and agency officials and their staff at the state level to convey the NRA-ILA’s position on proposed legislation, ordinances, and regulations that related to the Second Amendment and hunting issues• Disseminated information on legislative topics of interest and produced position statements on those issues• Developed a legislative agenda relating to Second Amendment and hunting issues in my assigned states• Drafted and managed legislation that will impact NRA members and other pro-gun/hunting supporters• Coordinated with NRA-ILA Grassroots and Public Affairs to ensure a clear and concise message• Represented and spoke on behalf of the NRA at hearings, meetings, fundraisers, and rallies• Assigned ratings to political candidates seeking election at the state level on behalf of the NRA’s Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF)
