Student Intern
Gainesville, Georgia, United States
This internship was for the Department of Visual Arts at the University of North Georgia. We were tasked with creating multi media designs, to update not only the Visual arts department, but scholarships for other students as well. (posters, Instagram and Facebook posts, and website update banners) Over the course of this internship, I polished up my Photoshop skills, learning how to move more efficiently when the time called for it. I got extremely familiar with structuring typography to display the information needed. I was able to learn how to better combine two or more different software's into my workflow, for example creating .svg paths in Illustrator in order to model 3D type in Blender.I also grew in areas around identifying issues that needed solving fast, and doing so. This skill most likely was developed through my work with MailChimp, publishing the weekly Quarterly. (newsletter) This project required constant checks and fixes, whether it be type or the need of a graphic. I learned the stricter process within corporation branding and more specifically, University branding. The University branded content has very specific guidelines a design must meet to be produced. (font, text color, background colors, logo usage, etc.)This internship often required intense collaboration, whether it be through design aspects or through scheduling of project rollouts.Over the course of the internship I discovered I needed to allow a project time tobreathe, and this required me to better learn how to gradually clean up a project rather than over process it.
