Conquest Student Housing was a developer, opportunistic investor and manager of luxury student housing properties. Its portfolio also included value-added retail centers and net-leased properties, with total assets that exceeded $300MM.During Nelson's tenure as Acquisitions Director the company grew holdings to include new student housing properties at USC and UCSB, completed the $80MM Tuscany construction project at USC, expanded into acquisition of retail properties - amassing a portfolio of value-added multi-tenant centers in Los Angeles and opportunistically acquired single-tenant net leased assets throughout California, and acquired and stabilized distressed traditional apartment assets in Southern California. Eventually Nelson and Conquest executed a 20+ property, $220MM+ disposition of the student housing portfolio to focus on retail properties and investments outside of commercial real estate.
