Project Lead on the Process Characterization team in Upstream Process Design. Responsibilities include the following: - Developing upstream cell-culture and bioreactor processes for late-stage process development, manufacturing-scale support, and data acquisition for BLA filing- Serving as the lead subject matter expert on current projects, while providing support for team members on other ongoing development and characterization projects- Interfacing with clients and our manufacturing teams to identify project needs and process gaps, to provide solutions that ensure success of at-scale GMP bioreactor campaigns - Performing risk analyses for upstream processes to optimally design experiments and gather data to mitigate at-scale deviations and ensure product safety- Performing bench experiments (DOEs), analyzing data and results, and authoring associated reports and documentation for internal guidance and regulatory filing and support- Training our Operations team and other junior Upstream team members on bioreactor and cell-culture practices

Upstream Process Design in the Small Scale Bioreactor GroupResponsibilities and experiences include:- Developed bioreactor processes at 1-30L scale for the advancement of low-cost biotherapeutics manufacturing- Developed fed batch, iFB, and continuous harvest processes- Served as the bioreactor team lead on cross-functional project teams- Expertise with mammalian cell culture in bioreactors (CHO and iPSCs)- Organized Journal Club presentations and discussion amongst process design teams- Developed training materials for PD, and mentoring new hires across PD teams

I received my Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Washington as a member of Alshakim Nelson's research group. My graduate work focused on the interfaces between soft materials, biology, and additive manufacturing. Please refer to my publications for a more detailed look into my research.Highlights of my work and accomplishments include:- Pioneering a platform of 3D-printable hydrogels for the encapsulation of various microbes and thedevelopment of novel, catalytically active, living materials- Creating 3D-printed bioreactor technologies using hydrogel living materials- Extensive experience evaluating the mechanical performance of materials developed by our lab- Lead lab efforts of the development of low-cost 3D-printer hardware and G-code scripts for applications with our lab’s soft material deposition projects- Building and maintaining infrastructure for cell-culture and biological research in the Nelson Lab- Managing multiple cross-departmental collaborations- Contributing to authoring multiple patents and grants- Participating in laboratory outreach to local schools through visits and demonstrationsOther roles include serving as a Lead Teaching Assistant, Graduate Student Liaison to UW in the High School, and as President of the Chemistry Graduate Student Club.
